For each of these advertorials, I worked with brand producers at Variety Content Studios who tasked me with creating a new editorial style that expanded the existing brand.
Parasite is a South Korean film directed by Bong Joon-ho that premiered at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival. After gathering immense buzz in the festival circuit, the advertorial aimed to broaden the reach of the movie to an American audience and pave the way to the Oscars.
Cinecettà is the largest studio in Europe where classics like Gangs of New York and The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou were filmed. While invoking the legacy of the studio, the advertorial aimed to entice future films with state-of-the-art production facilities and locational tax incentives.
For AppleTV+, advertorials were printed in Variety and as standalones, which were distributed at promotional events. Looking to stand out from other streaming services, the strategy was to showcase the plethora of star-studded original content and profile the talent behind them.
